Clarence Jeryl "Jerry" Fringer, age 80, died November 12, 2009 in Sublimity, Oregon.

A Webster county native, he was born near Guide Rock, Nebraska and received his formal education attending rural school and the Guide Rock schools.

Jerry lived in California before moving to Bend, Oregon in 1987, to Madras in 1999, and to Aumsville, Oregon in 2001. A 20-year veteran of the United States Air Force, he was trained as a jet engine mechanic during the Korean and Vietnam wars, and worked with the Trailblazers demonstration team in Europe.

Following his retirement from service he was employed with a commuter airline in San Diego, California. Jerry was united in marriage with Francine Carris on april 17, 1964, in San Bernardino, California.

Jerry was a friend to everyone he met, and he truly never met a stranger. In his leisure time he enjoyed tinkering, fishing, camping, boating and being outside.

Left to treasure his memory are his wife, Fran; daughters: Cyndi Marraffino of Canby, Oregon; Peggy Guarino of Paradise, California, and Joy Lisak of Salem, Oregon; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Melvin Fringer and wife Dorothy "Dottie" of Titusville, Florida; sisters: Wilma Smith of Guide Rock, Nebraska and Cleila Rogers of Red Cloud, Nebraska; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Graveside services were held Friday, November 20, 2009 at Williamette National Cemetery at Portland, Oregon
