Mildred Heitman the daughter of Henry and Martha (Krein) Grauerholz was born April 12, 1921 on a farm in Smith County, KS near Athol. She departed this life on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Center in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 88 years.
Mildred was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church in Athol, KS and confirmed on April 14, 1935 also at St. John's. Mildred had worked at the Smith County Court House as well as working at a restaurant both in Smith Center, KS. On September 19, 1943 Mildred was united in marriage to Erich Heitman at St. John's Lutheran Church. This union was blessed with the birth of three children, one son and two daughters. Erich and Mildred remained on the family farm in Jewell County, KS until November of 1983 when they moved into Superior, NE to enjoy their retirement years.
Mildred had been a charter member of Centennial Lutheran Church of Superior. As a member Mildred served in L WML, and taught Sunday School, Bible School, and Confirmation classes. Mildred was an accomplished baker which her family and friends always looked forward to. While her children were young Mildred had been involved with 4H and sewing. Mildred always cherished the time spent watching her children and grandchildren participate in various sporting and school activities. Mildred moved to the Superior Good Samaritan Center in 2004 due to failing health.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Erich on February 3, 2004. Sister Wilma Weber Kirchhoff and two brothers Wilber and Vernon Grauerholz.
Survivors include her daughters: Judeen Henriksen and husband Ken of Formoso, KS; Diane Obialero and husband John of Littleton, CO; son Kenneth Heitman and wife Pam of Webber, KS; 6 grandchildren Darci Seyfort and husband Steve, Ryan Henriksen and wife Jennifer, Marc Henriksen, Josh Heitman and wife Amanda, Kris Heitman and Adam Heitman, 6 great grandchildren Devin, Erich, Vanessa, Kale, Brynn and Lana, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held this Monday 11 :00 a.m., December 14, 2009 at the Centennial Lutheran Church in Superior, Nebraska. Pastor Brian S. Earl will be officiating. Burial will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, Nebraska.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 1 pm to 5 pm and Sunday from l0:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska.
