Bonnie Jean Mattison, the daughter of May Nina (Bower) and Edwin Gilbert Wilson, was born May 14, 1927 at Blue Hill, Nebraska. She departed this life on Monday, December 7, 2009 at the Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 23 days.

A lifelong resident of Webster County, she received her formal education attending grade school at District #41 north of Inavale and graduated from the Inavale High School with the class of 1944. On January 20, 1945 she was united in marriage with Victor Ardell Mattison at Smith Center, Kansas. This union was blessed with four children, Larry, Lonnie, Bradley and Vicki. They made their home in the Inavale community. Her husband, Victor, preceded her in death on January 24, 1990. Bonnie later moved to Red Cloud to make her home.

Bonnie enjoyed Spring and Summer most of all. She like working in her yard and planting flowers, with Zinnias being her favorite. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch and visiting with her neighbors and friends. The coffee pot was always on and there was always enough to share with whoever came over to visit. Bonnie also enjoyed going to garage sales, a hobby she shared with her daughter. She looked forward to decorating her home for the different holidays throughout the year.

She always enjoyed and looked forward to the visits from her children and grandchildren. She had an especially close bond with her daughter, Vicki, who would come and visit her many times each week. If they weren't together on any given day, there would be a telephone call between them checking up on each other and making sure everything was ok. They were more than mother and daughter, they were best friends. While Bonnie was a resident of the Heritage Care Center, Vicki would make sure to see her as often as she could during the week with nightly calls as well.

Surviving are two sons, Lonnie Mattison and wife Sue of Gilbert, Arizona, and Bradley Mattison and wife Patrice of Mankato, Minnesota; a daughter, Vicki Morgan and husband Joe of Campbell, Nebraska; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and a sister, LaVonne Benker of Hastings, Nebraska.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Victor A. Mattison; a son, Larry Mattison; sisters Irma Dusek and Wanda Wilson; and brothers Gilbert (Bud) Wilson, Roy Wilson and Jess Wilson.
