Jerald D. Bloomer, age 75, of Red Cloud, Nebraska died Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Grandview Manor in Campbell, Nebraska.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., October 6, 2009 at the Simonson-Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Red Cloud with the Rev. Jon Hansen officiating.
Jerald D. Bloomer, the son of Edna (Hamilton) and Joseph Bloomer, was born July 18, 1934 at Plattville, Colorado. He grew up in the Denver area and received his formal edcuation attending school there.
On December 29, 1956 he was united in marriage with Inez McCrary at Castle Rock, Colorado. This union was blessed with five children. Jerald worked for over 35 years as a truck driver for Pepsi in the Denver area. After retiring, Jerald and Inez moved to Red Cloud in September of 2002 to be near their family.
In his leisure time he enjoyed horses and attending rodeos. He was espeically proud of his family and cherished time spent with his grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and four sisters.
Left to treasure his memory are his loving wife, Inez of Red Cloud; two daughters, Rita Nichols and husband Mickey of Red Cloud; and Theda Bloomer of Red Cloud; three sons, Travis Bloomer and wife Kay of McPherson, Kansas; Gordon Bloomer of Glen Burnie, Maryland; and Tracy Bloomer and wife Kathy of Ogden, Utah; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; two sisters, Agnes Porter and husband Jess of Denver, Colorado; and Lee Stewart and husband John of Denver, other relatives and a many friends.
