Dolores Jean Campbell the daughter of Dee and Lillian Barker was born July 21, 1926 at Detroit, Michigan. She left this life for her new life on January 25, 2013 at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 86 years. In those 86 years she touched many lives with her friendship, mentoring, and counseling and with her love.

Dolores met and married Colis Campbell at Harding College in Searcy, Arkansas on June 7, 1945, the couple spent 8 years in Japan as missionaries, 2 years in Columbia, Missouri, 17 years at York College, York, Nebraska and minister and teaching jobs in Robstown, TX; Acuff, TX; Ramona, OK; and Kearney, NE. the couple retired to Kimberling City, MO and later moved back to Nebraska to be near family.

While at York College, Dolores worked in the Registrar's office and then as Dean of women. She was also active member of the York Business and Professional Women's Club.

Dolores will be remembered for her warm smile, clever and outgoing personality, her hospitality, for being a loving and fun Mother and Grandmother, and as a strong and faithful Christian.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Ruth New, nephew Wayne New, son in law Kenneth Melott and great grandson Alexander Colis Edwards.

Survivors include husband Colis of Superior, NE; her daughters Betty Lou Knowles and husband Jim of Denton, TX and Pattie Sue Edwards and husband Dennis of Kearney, NE; grandchildren: Lonnie Kenneth Melott, Lucas Campbell Melott wife Ashley and children, Campbell Kenneth and Caiden Davis Melott, James Terrell Knowles Jr, John Thomas Knowles wife Mende and children Jack Thomas and James Parker Knowles; Clinton Lee Edwards wife Vickie and children: Eve Caroline and Jack Dennis; Clayton Colis Edwards wife Rochelle and daughter Samantha Leigh; Abigail Kendall Edwards and daughter Dominique Ray; Jake Thomas Edwards and fiancé Aspen Brown and McKinney David Edwards; other relatives and a host of friends.

Memorial services were held Thursday 10:00 AM January 31, 2013 at the Church of Christ at 302 E 25th Street, Kearney with Robert Lawrence officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
